Sponsorship Opportunities

Corporate and private sponsorship is critical to the success of the Naval Sea Cadet International Exchange Program (IEP) in the United States. The IEP relies heavily on the financial support of our surrounding communities to provide a full cultural exchange program for our visiting Cadets and their escorts. The Naval Sea Cadet International Exchange Program offers an array of sponsorship opportunities for both private citizens as well as the corporate enterprise. You or your company can sponsor individual Cadets and their escorts, as well as events, programs, site visits, and social gatherings that are part of this cultural exchange.

Sponsor Benefits
Advertising, publicity or promotional consideration provided to sponsors is commensurate with the level of sponsorship offered. Publicity for your company may include recognition in media events and one or more of the following: NSCC online bulletin boards, web promotion on the U.S. Naval Sea Cadets of Rhode Island (USNSCRI) site, table reservations at IEP social gatherings, promotion in USNSCRI literature, press releases to domestic and international media, and public address announcements at specific events.

International Exchange Program Demographic Profile
Exchange Program nations participating in this annual event include Cadets and escorts from Canada, the United Kingdom, Sweden, the Netherlands, Korea, Singapore, Japan, Australia, Russia, and Bermuda. U.S. Naval Sea Cadet officers and staff that serve as the managers and hosts for this year's IEP are drawn from Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New York, Connecticut, Virginia and Maryland.

Our Sponsors and Advertisers
Our sponsors include local businesses in southeast New England as well as corporations headquartered in the nations sending Cadets to the IEP.

Note: Sponsorship or Advertisement does not imply endorsement by the departments of the United States Armed Forces. Likewise, the appearance of external hyperlinks does not constitute explicit endorsement by the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps.

A Note About the U.S. Naval Sea Cadets
The U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps (USNSCC) and its local affiliated organization, the U.S. Naval Sea Cadets of Rhode Island (USNSCRI), are non-profit youth services organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. All contributions made to USNSCRI and/or the USNSCC are tax-deductible for federal tax purposes.

Sponsored and supported by the Department of the Navy, the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Navy League, the Naval Sea Cadets provide leadership training programs for young Americans, male and female, ages 11 through 17. The objectives of the Sea Cadet program include developing an interest and skill in the naval and maritime sciences, and to teach patriotism, courage, self-reliance and kindred values. Sea Cadets train aboard vessels, aircraft and shore activities of the U.S. Armed Services, Reserves, and National Guard. Sea Cadets are authorized to wear Navy uniforms appropriately marked with NSCC or NLCC insignia.

There are some 180 units in operation in almost every state of the union and in Puerto Rico and Guam, with over 10,000 young Americans participating. The Cadet Corps afford equal opportunity for participation to all American youth, without regard to race, color, religion or sex. Official support of the USNSCC by the Navy is promulgated in OPNAVINST 5760.5C. Commander, Naval Recruiting Command is responsible for coordinating the U.S. Navy's support of the NSCC. The Naval Sea Cadet Corps has also been designated by the United States Coast Guard as their primary youth program; official support of the USNSCC is outlined in the USCG Public Affairs Manual COMDTINST M5728.2A.
