Wreaths Across America, RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter
For the second year in a row, NCBC Sea Cadets joined with the Rhode Island chapter of the Patriot Guard Riders (motto: "Standing for Those Who Stood for US"), and thousands of other Americans around the country, as we spent the day remembering those who sacrificed so that we could continue to enjoy this holiday season. On a cold but otherwise beautiful 13th of December, the event drew an overflow crowd, and listened as speakers such as Major General Robert Bray, the Adjutant General of the RI National Guard, and RI Representative Ken Carter addresses their remarks to family and friends of the 21 Rhode Islanders who have given their lives while engaged in the Global War On Terror. After the ceremony, Sea Cadets assisted the staff and volunteers from the PGR and Boy Scouts in ceremoniously placing holiday wreaths at 30 memorial locations around the cemetery.
