Marksmanship Training at Cape Cod
The NCBC Cadets hit the road early on Saturday morning, 14 February, to join with their shipmates from NSCC GOSNOLD Division and Training Ship PATRIOT STATE for a day of Marksmanship Training. The location was the U.S. Coast Guard's Ordinance Support Facility at the Massachusetts Military Reservation on Cape Cod, a large complex that hosts active and reserve components of the U.S. Army, National Guard, and the Coast Guard. Range operations were overseen by soldiers and staff of the Army Reserve, led by SFC Twohig, USA, Range Master, SFC John Stearns, USA, (ret) Range Master, and Mr. William Sissons, with about 40 Cadets shooting .22 caliber rifles and revolvers. Every NCBC Cadet scored at least at the Marksman level, all either earning or requalifying their Marksman, Sharpshooter, or Expert ribbon.
