Swim Qualification, Basic Water Survival Traning, Cumberland, RI
Naval Sea Cadets spent a busy weekend, 11-13 September, at Camp Ker-Anna, Cumberland, RI, to hone their skills in basic water survival techniques and to refresh their swimming qualification requirements. All Cadets qualified at the minimum Level 3 standard (click here to see the requirements), and spent some quality time in the cold water immersion suit, affectionately called the "Gumby Suit." The Cadets also received either basic or refresher training on canoes in Diamond Hill Reservoir, including how to save themselves after tipping over. Many thanks for FALCON Division in Providence for putting this terrific training event together.
