Fifth Annual Regional Sea Cadet Ball, Middletown, RI
On Saturday, 7 March 2009, Sea Cadets from across the southeast New England region gathered at the Atlantic Beach Club on Aquidneck Island to celebrate themselves and welcome a new season of Cadet activities and achievements. The featured speaker for the evening was former NETC Division Sea Cadet Sara Supancic, was finishing up her final year as a Midshipman at the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD. MIDN Supancic recalled her time as a Sea Cadet at Newport, and gave advice to those up and coming Cadets who also are pursuing their dreams of success once they finish their Sea Cadet careers. A major highlight event of the event was the presentation of the U.S. Navy League Youth Medal - Cadets from FALCON Division, NETC Division, NAUTILUS 571 Division, and NCBC Battalion were honored with this recognition.
