Navy Band Visit
| On 30 January 2004, NCBC Sea Cadets hosted a visit by Lieutenant Ray Penland, USN, the Director of the Navy Band Northeast, and Chief Musican Heidi Willson, also from the Navy Band. The two of them told their stories - how they became Navy musicians, from their early experiences through high school, university and then the Navy, where they had gone and what they had done. As a presentation on the career opportunities available to a young person in the Navy, this was a training session like no other the Cadets had ever experienced. A mini "jam session" followed, including a vocal performance from Chief Willson, one of the Navy's few choristers.
