Health Promotion & Medical Career Night
| On Friday evening, 20 February, the NCBC Sea Cadets traveled to the Naval Ambulatory Care Center, Newport (locally still often referred to as the Newport Naval Hospital). Mark Picard and Command Dietitian Kristin Wilkes from the Health Promotion Department impressed the Cadets with their engaging presentation on health promotion, stressing proper diet, common sense rules for living, and learning where health trends are going for young people. They were followed by HM2 Erik Saunders, HM2 John Diem, and HM1 Luchino Caparas (shown at right), who spoke of the opportunities offered by Naval medical careers - an alternative career path that caught the imagination of more than a few of the Cadets.
