| On 11 June, 2006, NCBC Cadets provided an Honor Guard and Color Guard contingent to help open the regional meeting of the Fleet Reserve Association (FRA) at the North Kingstown (RI) Community Center. The local affiliate of the FRA, Branch 42, is the founding organization of the unit, and continues their sponsorship to the present day. During the meeting the members of the FRA took a moment to honor and award a substantial scholarship to a graduating senior from East Greenwich High School, who had earned her award from the FRA Scholarship Program for her winning essay on the importance of her vote. The Cadets then joined with the FRA membership in a memorial ceremony at the North Kingstown Veterans Memorial Park, trooping the colors during this very significant event.
