On 20 October, 2007, NCBC Sea Cadets provided a Color Guard in tribute to three Veterans of D-Day - Everett Campbell (US Army, 461 AA), MM2 George Leach (US Navy), and 1LT George Sutcliff (US Army Air Corps). The event was hosted by the Armed Forces Recruiting Station in Warwick, and the speakers included Congressman Jim Langevin (D-RI), the Representative from Rhode Island's Second District, and MGen Reginald Centracchio (ret), the former Adjutant General of the Rhode Island National Guard. 1st Lieutenant Sutcliff's exploits as a pilot flying the P-47 Thunderbolt during the Normandy invasion in WWII were described in detail in a History Channel episode of Dogfights, and in an article in the Providence Journal newspaper.
